TEA AREA: 5 RULES FOR CREATING A CORNER OF THE HOUSE
Autumn is the time when you want hot tea, fragrant cocoa with marshmallow, and fragrant mulled wine. Tasting drinks is doubly pleasant if the house has a separate area for tea drinking. Moreover, it is easy and quick to organize it - just find a suitable place, for example, in the living room, on the balcony or terrace. If there is a free room, you can realize the idea there. We offer you 5 rules for creating a home tea zone.
1. Choose comfortable and stylish furniture
Home zone for tea drinking should not be oversaturated with furniture - two or three items are enough.
What can be present:
- A coffee table or a bar counter.
- Comfortable chairs or armchairs.
- A compact sofa.
- A cabinet or shelf for dishes.
The usual dining table will not fit into the concept of a corner for tea drinking, so choose a miniature table with an original design. Suitable and low compact bar counter, or a folding table top. The last option will be optimal if there is little free space in the room.
Choose for the tea zone a pair of soft comfortable chairs with backs or cozy chairs, for example, English models with ears. They can be replaced by a compact but roomy sofa.
Cupboards, racks and shelves for dishes can serve as both functional details and decor. Choose original items in the chosen interior style.
2. Decorating a tea party corner
The main role in creating the entourage is played by the decor. Choose it based on the style of the interior. For example, in classical trends will fit paintings, pots with live plants, vases with flowers. Thematic posters, asymmetrical figures, abstract installations, original mirrors look organically in loft interiors. Provence and shebby-chic styles assume a more extravagant decor, for example, floral compositions, statuettes.
A universal type of decorations for the home tea area is decorative tableware. If you have a unique set or a collection of table items, you can use them as decor.
3. Buying tea ware
Tableware is one of the key elements of an improvised home coffee shop. It is unlikely that you will enjoy drinking tasty drinks from old scattered mugs, so it is better to buy a small tea or coffee set. The choice depends on your preferences - someone likes elegant porcelain cups, someone likes large glass ones.
You can separately buy spacious mugs for cocoa, glasses with a high leg for mulled wine. In short, dishes for your favorite drinks. If you buy not a set, try to find products in the most similar style of design.
4. Organizing the lighting
The seating and tea area should ideally be separately lit. If there will be a bar counter, buy a pendant lamp with a long lamphead and place it above the tabletop. A corner in the classic style with a low table, sofa or armchair can be illuminated with spectacular sconces, table lamp with a shaped lamp shade or floor lamp.
To create a cozy romantic atmosphere, provide decorative lighting in the form of garlands, spots or LED strips. The latter can be "let" on the perimeter of the cabinet for dishes or shelves. Spots are advisable to build into the stretch ceiling (if there is one) above the tea area or make with their help illuminate the decor, for example, paintings or panels.
5. Scenting the space
Owners of cafes and restaurants often resort to a little trick - excite the appetite of customers with the help of aromas. Of course, we are not talking about sharp smells of ordinary perfumes, but subtle notes of coffee, fruit, vanilla, cinnamon. They can be placed in the tea drinking area with the help of diffusers, scented candles or sachets.
